My family has a history of mental health issues. Although I have never had any diagnosed mental illness, my sisters and brother and cousins have. In my office, I see people every week who have and are suffering from not only the illness, but the terrible effects of the drugs. Most recently, I have seen a 16 year old with uncontrollable whole body twitches from taking Adderall for 8 years. Her parents had no idea how to help her to graduate without the meds; in fact, the teachers would not allow her to return to school with out medication.
This is an area of natural healing that needs to be addressed, as more and more parents are seeing the devastating effects of drugs on their children (and themselves).
